According to information from RIA Novosti, citing the Guardian, Google has decided to remove some medical reviews created using artificial intelligence (AI). This decision was made following the identification of cases of misinformation about health that could pose risks to users' lives.
The publication notes that "after an investigation by the Guardian, which found that people could be at risk due to misleading information, Google removed a number of its medical reviews prepared with the help of AI."
Earlier in early January, the Guardian reported that health information contained in AI-generated reviews could be dangerous and misleading.
According to the publication, one such review mistakenly recommended that people with pancreatic cancer avoid high-fat foods. Experts pointed out that this contradicts recommendations and could increase mortality risk for patients with this disease. The newspaper also reported that Google's AI provided incorrect information about key liver tests, which could mislead individuals with serious liver conditions regarding their health.
