During the meeting, Prime Minister Zandanshatar expressed gratitude to his colleague Li Qiang for the New Year’s greetings. He noted that Mongolia and China, being neighbors with shared mountains and rivers, consider the development of friendly ties and cooperation as a top priority in their foreign policy. He also emphasized that bilateral cooperation is based on mutual respect for independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, as well as the interests of both countries.
Zandanshatar also recalled his meeting with Li Qiang in November 2025 in Moscow, where the parties agreed to coordinate China’s 15th five-year socio-economic development plan with Mongolia’s similar plan to achieve sustainable long-term development and strengthen economic growth.
The Prime Minister added that joint projects and programs implemented between the two states are crucial for ensuring tangible benefits in the socio-economic development of both countries. He confirmed Mongolia's readiness for close cooperation with China to achieve the goal of increasing bilateral trade turnover to 20 billion US dollars by 2026. Both sides also expressed a desire to actively promote transit transportation necessary for exporting Mongolian goods to third-country markets.
Ambassador Shen Minjuan noted that stable trade turnover between the countries, even in the context of a complex global economy, demonstrates great potential for expanding economic cooperation. She reaffirmed her commitment to maintaining mutually beneficial cooperation between Mongolia and China.
