
The meeting took place within the framework of the 16th plenary session of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly, which was held in Manama, the capital of Bahrain.
During the discussions, the parties addressed issues related to the institutional activities of TURKPA and projects implemented since 2008, as well as current political processes both in the region and at the global level. Special attention was given to the importance of parliamentary diplomacy in response to modern challenges and ensuring the resolution of pressing conflicts.
The prospects for cooperation between TURKPA and the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS were also discussed, including the possibility of TURKPA obtaining observer status within the framework of the CIS IPA.
Kobitsky noted that there are many opportunities for deepening interaction in the field of parliamentary diplomacy, exchanging experiences, and jointly implementing initiatives aimed at strengthening peace, security, and stability, as well as developing relations between friendly states. He also emphasized that such cooperation could be mutually beneficial.
As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to continue cooperation between TURKPA and the Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS in areas of mutual interest, as well as the possibility of organizing reciprocal visits.
The event was also attended by the Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA, Mukhammet Alper Hayali, and the Head of the Protocol Service, Yadigar Mammadov.
