The Indian team, consisting of 20 boxers, will be led by Olympic medalist Lovlina Borgohain and two-time world champion Nikhat Zarin at the Asian Championship, which will take place in Mongolia from March 28 to April 11.

The formation of the team was completed after a month of careful evaluation, and the athletes joined the national team's training camp in Patiala after the conclusion of the National Championship in January.

According to the selection rules, finalists of the Asian Championships in the established weight categories will receive direct berths to the Commonwealth Games and the Asian Games.

This championship is significant as it provides boxers with the opportunity not only to win medals but also to qualify for upcoming multi-sport competitions.

Lovlina (75 kg), who recently won a gold medal at the Boxam Elite Championship in Spain, will lead the women's team, which will also include Priti (54 kg), Arundhati Choudhary (70 kg), and Priya (60 kg), all of whom won gold at the same tournament and are showing excellent results.

The team will also include current world champions Minakshi (48 kg) and Jaismine (57 kg).
