According to information from Western sources, the new supreme leader of Iran is Ali Khamenei's son, Mojtaba. This decision was made by a council of 88 representatives of the highest Shia clergy, although the official authorities of Iran and state media have not yet confirmed this information.

In response, Iranian military forces launched drones and missiles towards Israel and U.S. military bases in the Persian Gulf.
According to Qatar's Ministry of Defense, one of the Iranian missiles was intercepted by the air defense system, while another struck the American airbase Al-Udeid.
The human rights organization Human Rights Activist News Agency reported that since the beginning of hostilities in Iran, more than 1,000 civilians have been killed, including members of the country's top leadership.
According to The Times of Israel, the Israeli operation against Iran may continue for another one to two weeks, during which the IDF plans to target thousands of additional objectives.
The Israeli army states that its goal is to weaken the Iranian regime and its military capabilities. The Israeli army also suggests that the Gulf states, which have been attacked by Iran, may join military actions against Tehran.
