Iran threatened to mine the entire Persian Gulf

In its statement, Iran noted that any aggression from the adversary would result in all maritime routes and communications in the Persian Gulf being mined. In particular, this refers to various types of naval mines, including floating mines that can be deployed directly from the shore.

The Council also added that for countries without hostile intentions against Iran, it would be possible to pass through the Strait of Hormuz with prior coordination with Tehran.

We remind you that U.S. President Donald Trump previously demanded that Iran open the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours and threatened strikes on energy facilities in the region. Iran rejected this ultimatum and expressed its readiness to attack American facilities.
