Brent oil price sharply increased for the first time since March

As of now, according to trading data, at 01:15 Moscow time, the price of Brent increased by 2.74%, reaching $115.65 (approximately 9,400 rubles) per barrel, but by 01:25 Moscow time, the increase slowed to $115.40 (about 9,400 rubles), which corresponds to a rise of 2.51%.

Experts link the sharp rise in prices to changes in global oil demand and supply. The current rise in Brent indicates a possible stabilization after the price decline observed in March 2026.

It was recently reported that American oil WTI rose by 36% over the past week, reaching $90.90 (7,600 rubles), while Brent climbed to $92.69 (7,700 rubles). The main reason for this spike was the unstable events in the Strait of Hormuz and the suspension of production by key suppliers in the region.

The publication UnHerd previously noted that the escalation of the conflict between the USA, Israel, and Iran could have a positive impact on Russia. The authors of the article believe that potential chaos in Iran could lead to an increase in oil prices and strengthen Europe's dependence on Russian energy resources, which in turn could bolster Moscow's position in the Ukrainian conflict.
