In Kyrgyzstan, employees of the agency responsible for combating illegal drug trafficking conducted a special operation aimed at dismantling a transnational drug trafficking group. This information was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

According to available data, the criminal group included citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan. During the operation, seven individuals were detained, and one of them was placed on an international wanted list.
The investigation believes that the detainees were involved in the smuggling and sale of Afghan-produced drugs in large quantities, using Kyrgyzstan as a transit point for transporting the cargo.

During searches of the homes and vehicles of the detainees, as well as in hideouts, 136 kilograms and 855 grams of narcotic substances were discovered and seized, including over 20 kilograms of opium and more than 116 kilograms of hashish.

In addition, a significant amount of cash in dollars, soms, Uzbek soms, and rubles was confiscated from the drug dealers. Six vehicles were also transferred to the state treasury.

Several criminal proceedings have been initiated in this case under Articles 262 ("Creation of a criminal community or participation in it"), 282 ("Illegal production of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their analogs for the purpose of sale"), 285 ("Smuggling of items subject to special rules for movement across the customs border of the Kyrgyz Republic"), and 378 ("Illegal crossing of the state border of the Kyrgyz Republic") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
