According to preliminary data, there were no citizens of Kyrgyzstan affected by the railway accident in Spain. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, citing information from local authorities.

The ministry also added that the Kyrgyz embassy had not received any requests for assistance from compatriots.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Kyrgyz embassy in France continue to interact with Spanish authorities to monitor the situation.

It was previously reported that on January 18, 2026, a railway disaster occurred in the Adamus area in southern Spain, where two passenger trains collided. As a result of the tragedy, at least 39 people were killed, and more than 120 were injured.
