According to him, situational centers operate across the country, monitoring the work of the cameras around the clock, thereby ensuring the safety of citizens.
“Currently, more than 3,000 video cameras have been installed in public places throughout the republic. Each recorded incident is forwarded to the territorial divisions of the district internal affairs bodies for further action in accordance with the law,” noted Almaz Batyrbaev.
He also added that in 2026, as part of the second phase of the "Safe Country" project, the installation of 20,000 new video cameras is planned.
“The process will take place in stages. First, specialists will analyze the areas where crimes occur most frequently. In addition, the installation of cameras requires the presence of infrastructure, such as round-the-clock power supply and internet connectivity. The cameras vary in types: some have the ability to rotate 360 degrees, while others are stationary and fixed in one direction,” he added.
