According to information published by Politico, the head of the U.S. Cybersecurity Agency uploaded official files to ChatGPT, making them accessible to users and developers.

Madhu Gattumukkala, the acting head of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, requested permission to use the public version of ChatGPT after his appointment, which had previously been prohibited. In the summer of 2025, he uploaded a number of documents to the system, none of which were classified at a high level, but many were marked as "for official use only."

According to sources, after the documents were uploaded, several automatic systems were triggered, signaling potential security issues. As a result, an internal investigation was initiated, but its findings remain unknown.

Previously, Madhu Gattumukkala did not pass a polygraph test organized by his subordinates. As a result, some employees were suspended, but Gattumukkala himself remained in his position.
