In Bishkek, pickpocketing has become more frequent, especially in small white Isuzu buses that are not equipped with video surveillance. This was reported by the district inspector of GOM-1 in the Lenin district, Janarbek Nurlanbekov, on February 4.

According to Nurlanbekov, there is an increase in the number of such thefts in public transport, particularly around the Osh market area. To enhance safety, the inspector conducts talks with passengers and drivers, urging them to be vigilant and to promptly contact the police in case of theft.

Preventive measures have also been carried out in large-class buses. Nurlanbekov noted that although such vehicles are equipped with cameras, it is difficult to identify criminals in crowded conditions, as pickpockets often operate in groups.

The police emphasize to passengers the necessity of keeping an eye on their personal belongings, especially during peak hours and in high-traffic areas, such as around the Osh market.
