On February 11, the press service of the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) reported the discovery of a corruption scheme related to the illegal enrollment of cadets in driving schools in the Batken region.

The investigation established that some driving school managers organized fictitious enrollments of citizens for training, despite the fact that they were not actually in Kyrgyzstan. To gain illegal benefits, these enrollments were conducted remotely, with both theoretical and practical classes absent, and fake documents certifying course completion were issued.

The SCNS emphasized that individuals lacking knowledge of traffic rules and driving skills would arrive in Kyrgyzstan after formal "training," where they received certificates of course completion. Then, with the help of corrupt officials, they passed theoretical and practical exams and obtained driver's licenses.

During searches, evidence was seized confirming the regular enrollment of students in private driving schools while being outside the country.

As part of the investigation, efforts continue to identify other participants in the scheme, and the issue of revoking the issued driver's licenses is also being considered.
