
A man has been detained in Bishkek, accused of torturing his wife, reports the press service of the Sverdlovsk District Police Department. According to the agency, on January 27, 2026, a woman named M. D. filed a complaint detailing the ongoing physical and psychological abuse by her husband, M. D.
It should be noted that protective orders had previously been issued against citizen M. D. due to acts of domestic violence, yet he continued his unlawful actions, inflicting both physical and moral harm on his wife.
Based on the collected evidence, the actions of the suspect were classified under the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic as "torture." In this context, the Investigative Service of the Sverdlovsk District Police Department initiated a criminal case under Article 138, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The man, born in 1977, was taken to the Investigative Service, where, in accordance with Article 96 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, he was detained and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Bishkek City Police Department.
Currently, all necessary investigative actions and procedural measures are ongoing in the case.
