
On the morning of February 16, a fatal car accident occurred in Bishkek. The driver of a KIA K5, while making a left turn, hit a pedestrian who, unfortunately, died at the scene from the injuries sustained.
According to the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the capital, the incident took place on Tynalieva Street around 07:30. The driver, S.K., born in 1990, was heading north and struck citizen F.A., born in 2004, who was crossing the road from the east.
In connection with the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under Article 312 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, concerning violations of traffic rules that resulted in particularly serious harm through negligence. The driver was detained and placed in a temporary detention facility.
The vehicle was sent to a specialized impound lot, and necessary examinations were appointed for further investigation.
The Bishkek City Police Department strongly reminds both drivers and pedestrians of the necessity to strictly adhere to traffic rules, to show respect for each other on the road, and to be especially attentive, particularly near pedestrian crossings and during maneuvers.
