More than 28 thousand seedlings from Uzbekistan were not allowed into Kyrgyzstan
Trucks heading from Kyrgyzstan were loaded with seedlings and were supposed to deliver them to various regions of Russia. In the first truck, inspectors found 72,100 seedlings, including cherries, pears, plums, thuja, sweet cherries, roses, and strawberry rootstocks. This cargo was intended for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

The second truck was carrying 160,000 units of plant products, including apple and mulberry seedlings, as well as gladiolus and rose bulbs. The cargo was headed for the Mari El Republic.

Reasons for the return of the cargo

During the document inspection, serious violations in labeling were identified. Some plants lacked information about the place and specific plot of their origin.

These actions contradict the legislation of the EAEU in the field of plant quarantine.

Representatives of the Rosselkhoznadzor noted that the unauthorized import of seedlings could lead to significant risks. Pests or disease agents could enter the country under the guise of ordinary plants, posing a threat to agriculture.

Inspectors drew up reports on the violations and issued orders for the return of the products.
