According to information from the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui Region, on March 6, 2026, at around 12:20 PM, law enforcement officers detained Daniil Azhiev on the bypass road of Tokmok during operational activities.
Based on this incident, the Internal Affairs Directorate of the city of Tokmok has opened a criminal case under Article 283 of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, which pertains to the illegal production of drugs and psychotropic substances without the intent to sell.
Azhiev has been placed in a temporary detention facility.
As part of the investigation, necessary forensic examinations have been appointed, and investigative actions are being conducted to clarify all the details of the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
It is worth reminding that Daniil Azhiev was previously involved in a high-profile criminal case. In June 2023, he was detained on suspicion of organizing a network of webcam studios. At that time, he attempted to leave the country, heading to the UAE via Uzbekistan, but was detained in the neighboring state and later handed over to Kyrgyz authorities.
During the investigation, the court imposed a seizure on Azhiev's property. As a result, his apartments, houses, and cars were confiscated for a total amount of about 262 million soms.
The court found Azhiev guilty and sentenced him to nine years in prison. However, on February 18 of this year, it became known about his pardon by presidential decree.
