In Italy, an incident occurred when unknown criminals stole a truck containing 12 tons of KitKat chocolate. Nestle, the company that owns the brand, reported that the vehicle with 413,793 bars of the new chocolate line went missing while en route from Italy to Poland. As of now, the whereabouts of both the truck and the chocolate remain unknown.

Nestle reacted to the incident with irony, using their advertising slogan in a comment: "We have always encouraged people to take a break and enjoy a KitKat, but it seems the thieves took this too literally."

According to company representatives, the stolen batch of chocolate may be attempted to be sold illegally throughout Europe. Nevertheless, the manufacturer hopes to track the stolen bars thanks to the unique codes present on their packaging.

Additionally, Nestle noted that such cases of cargo theft are becoming increasingly common in Europe.
