Earthquake preparedness drills were held in Bishkek aimed at preparing civil defense services for possible earthquakes. The event was attended by the mayor of the capital, Aybek Junushaliev, and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The main objective of the drills was to check the readiness and actions of the services in the event of an earthquake, as well as to improve cooperation between various agencies.
The mayor noted that, considering the location of the capital in a seismically active zone, such events should be held regularly. During the drills, he familiarized himself with the readiness of the units that were placed in specially prepared tents.
Following the drills, the mayor assessed the participants' performance and made recommendations for addressing the identified shortcomings.
