Kyrgyzstan and Iran Discussed Expanding Cooperation in Agricultural and Water Sectors

The meeting with a delegation from the Islamic Republic of Iran took place at the Kyrgyz Ministry of Water Resources and Agriculture.

The delegation was headed by the Iranian ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, Golam Hossein Yadeghari, and the governor of Khorasan Razavi province, Golam Hossein Mozaffari.

During the meeting, opportunities for deepening bilateral cooperation and implementing joint projects in the fields of agronomy and water use were discussed.

The Iranian side expressed interest in purchasing Kyrgyz agricultural products, organizing transnational sowing, as well as in joint production and export of agricultural machinery and equipment. Issues of rational use of water resources and cooperation in the fields of investment and ecotourism were also discussed.

Janibek Kerimaliev, head of the delegation from the ministry, noted Kyrgyzstan's readiness to cooperate in the export of products such as beans, rice, cotton, honey, meat, and other agricultural goods.

Governor Mozaffari emphasized the importance of Khorasan Razavi province in relations with Central Asia and proposed to activate joint projects, considering Kyrgyzstan's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union.

As a result of the meeting, the parties agreed to further develop specific areas of bilateral cooperation. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the constructive dialogue and confirmed their intention to develop practical interaction.
