As noted in the statement, although drainage waters have advantages such as not freezing in winter and favorable conditions for fish breeding, the use of such systems for farming is strictly prohibited. According to the Water Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, the lands and water resources where drainage and irrigation networks are located are state property.
Due to the fact that village councils do not have the authority to grant drainage networks for use, all contracts with them are deemed invalid.During the monitoring, cases of removal of fertile soil from leased pastures without necessary transformations were also discovered. Warnings were issued to the lessees regarding these violations, the ministry reports.
Earlier, the regional office assessed the damage at 122,673.6 soms, and the case materials were forwarded to the prosecutor's office of the Bakai-Ata district. Legal measures are being taken against six fish farming entities.
