On the air of the "Kabar" agency, the minister noted that the country currently allows the construction of buildings up to 22 stories high without special technical requirements. For high-rise buildings over 22 stories, it is necessary to obtain a special conclusion from the Institute of Seismic Resistant Construction and Engineering Design.
“Currently, there is a conclusion for construction up to 35 stories. Soon, a conclusion will be issued for facilities ranging from 35 to 40 stories. Thus, the maximum permitted height today is 40 stories,” he added.
Oruntaev also noted that in other cities of Central Asia, such as Tashkent, Almaty, Dushanbe, and Urumqi, even taller buildings are being constructed. For example, there is a 55-story building in Tashkent, and an 80-story building in Urumqi. According to him, the seismic conditions and soil characteristics in Kyrgyzstan are similar to those in these regions, and it is worth studying their experience.
As confirmation of the possibility of constructing such facilities, the minister cited the pipes of the CHP in Bishkek as an example.
“We can consider the CHP pipes that were built during the Soviet era. Although these are not residential buildings, these structures have been serving for many years. When constructing apartment buildings, the requirements are higher, but this should not stop us from building high-rise buildings,” he noted.“I am convinced that Bishkek must develop and rise upwards. Manas, Karakol, and other significant cities should become modern megacities,” emphasized Oruntaev.
It is worth reminding that the first 40-story high-rise in Bishkek is planned for construction by the State Mortgage Company. The new residential complex, consisting of buildings 35 and 40 stories high, will be located at the corner of Ankara and Dostoevsky streets.
