Conditions are being created in Kyrgyzstan for the sustainable development of fisheries and aquaculture, which will also attract investments in this sector.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a comprehensive system is gradually being introduced in the country that will allow for the identification and tracking of fish and fish products at all stages—from eggs to finished products.
Currently, the following has already been implemented:
- monitoring of stocking and movement of eggs, fry, and adult fish;
- ensuring traceability of fish products;
- identification of fish farms, with data entered into the Animal Identification and Tracking Information System (AIS ITOJ).
- developed in stages,
- tested in pilot mode,
- trialed in one of the regions,
- and only after that implemented throughout the country.
Korea has confirmed its readiness to develop a module for the group identification of fish, which will also ensure traceability of fish products. The implementation of this system will allow:
- increased transparency in the fishing industry;
- reduction of illegal products;
- creation of more attractive conditions for investments;
- provision of quality and safe fish to the population.
