“They buy up plots and build to the detriment of people”
At the IV People's Kurultai in Bishkek, a proposal was made to impose restrictions on private construction companies.
A delegate from the capital, Baktybek Shambetov, presented this initiative.
He noted that “private companies buy up plots of 5 hundredths from residents of new buildings, demolish houses in the private sector, and erect apartment buildings for further sale. This is undoubtedly a business, but such activities harm local residents who face negative consequences. Moreover, the norms regarding land use are not taken into account, boundaries are not respected, and there are no necessary parking spaces, playgrounds, or green areas. Construction should only occur with the consent of citizens,” emphasized Shambetov.
