Today, the focus is on 30-year-old Edelweiss Jumabay kyzy, who lives in Osh. Her homeland is the village of Sary-Tash in the Aksy district.
“I graduated from school in my hometown and then in 2009, I enrolled in the Faculty of International Relations at the Osh Technological University. I completed my studies in 2014 and got married. I worked at city school No. 47, after which I went on maternity leave,” shares Edelweiss.
According to the young woman, her father wanted her to grow up patient and resilient like the Edelweiss flower, which can grow in the highest mountains, and chose a unique name for her.
“When people hear my name for the first time, they often ask me to repeat it. Knowing this, I pronounce it several times in advance. There is an elderly person in our village who calls me ‘Edilbay,’ and the children call me ‘Ebedes,’” she recounts.
Friends call her Edya, Elyа, or Edelia, but most people address her by her full name. “I really like my name. I am the only child in my family. My husband is Altynbek. We have an older daughter, Anzhelika, who is 5 years old, a three-year-old son, Nurel, and a five-month-old daughter, Nurzhan,” adds Edelweiss.
“I run a small internet business and plan to develop it. I also dream of traveling with my husband. I want to achieve many goals when the children grow up,” concluded Edelweiss.
