A Kyrgyzstani talks about schools of fry
Something amazing is happening at Lake Issyk-Kul: fish are returning once again. One local resident, who visited the beach, noticed a large number of fry swimming along the shore. According to him, he hasn't seen such a multitude of fish in about 40-50 years, and possibly even longer.
“In the past,” he shares his memories, “fishing at Issyk-Kul was done with large nets, and such species were common. But then the fish disappeared. And now, finally, I see it again. This was a true surprise and joy for me.”
He emphasized that this is just one of the beaches, and similar schools of fry are observed all along the lake's coast. The local residents he spoke with also confirmed that the mass return of fish had not been observed for many decades.
Additionally, the man expressed gratitude to President Sadyr Japarov for introducing a moratorium on fish catch, noting that it is precisely because of this decision that nature has been able to recover.
