At the off-site meeting of the deputies of the Jogorku Kenesh from the parties "Mekentchil" and "Ata Jurt," held on January 16, deputy Burun Amanova asked a question about the possible relocation of the Bishkek CHPP.

In response, the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, reported that new boilers had recently been put into operation in the city. These measures are intended to implement the strategy of decentralizing the heating system, which will reduce dependence on the CHPP.

“We are moving towards the decentralization of the CHPP heating system. The mayor's office has selected eight locations for the installation of new boilers throughout the city. If the experience proves successful, this will create the opportunity for a complete disconnection from the CHPP in the future,” noted Junushaliev.

The deputy clarified how long it would take to expect results from these changes.

The mayor replied that the results of the implementation of the new boilers would be known in 2–3 years. According to him, this could eliminate the need for the modernization of underground heating networks and provide the opportunity to abandon heating from the CHPP.
