In 2026, extensive work is planned for the renewal of the electrical network infrastructure in the Issyk-Kul region. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy through its press service.
According to the information, within the framework of this project, 50 kilometers of outdated electrical wires will be replaced with modern SIP wires, which are characterized by increased reliability and resistance to adverse climatic conditions.
In addition, the overhead power line with a voltage of 110 kV, which connects Tamga and Przhevalsk and stretches for 80 kilometers, will be completely updated. This line plays a key role in the power supply of the Jeti-Oguz and Ak-Suu districts, as well as the city of Karakol.

There are also plans to modernize the substation in Przhevalsk. In particular, a transformer with a capacity of 25 MVA will be replaced with a transformer with a capacity of 40 MVA, which will increase the overall capacity of the substation.

“All implemented and planned activities are aimed at ensuring stable, safe, and quality electricity supply for the residents of the Issyk-Kul region,” the ministry's message specifies.
