In Talas, important water supply facilities that were previously illegally privatized have been returned. This was reported by the State Commission for the Fight Against Corruption of the Kyrgyz Republic (GKNB KR).
According to the agency, in 2003, S.T.D., who headed the public organization "Toboy," in collusion with representatives of the Talas branch of the State Cadastre Administration and the State Enterprise "Talas Main Water Management," carried out the illegal privatization of facilities that ensure the livelihood of the population.
According to the information, S.T.D. abused the official position of employees of state institutions and, using official forgery, transferred strategic facilities of category "B" (water intakes) to the balance of his organization, which were subsequently transferred to private ownership. In total, this concerns land plots of 1.7 ha, 0.68 ha, and 1 ha, with a total value of 36,415,400 soms.
As a result of the investigative actions taken, the mentioned facilities for public life were returned back to state ownership.
