A signing ceremony for the Action Plan for 2026–2027 recently took place between the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States, Kubanychbek Omuraliev, and the Regional Director of the World Health Organization for Europe, Hans Henri P. Kluge. This document marks a step towards the implementation of the previously signed Memorandum of Understanding between the OTS and the WHO European Regional Office.

The parties identified several key areas for collaboration. These include: preparedness for health emergencies, development of digital solutions, training of personnel, strengthening institutional capacities, and implementing environmentally sustainable practices in healthcare facilities.

The plan includes joint actions aimed at improving healthcare systems in the participating countries, ensuring sanitary safety, preventing non-communicable diseases, supporting healthy aging policies, and minimizing the impact of climate on citizens' health.

This document establishes medium-term goals for cooperation and creates a practical foundation for the implementation of joint projects with clear and measurable outcomes. The signing of the plan highlights the parties' commitment to developing partnerships and coordinating their actions in the field of public health.

The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) unites Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan. It was founded in 2009 and has carried its current name since 2021. The OTS headquarters is located in Istanbul.

This organization serves as a mechanism for deepening integration among Turkic states and coordinating their positions at regional and international levels.
