According to information from the agency, the new system is designed to organize the movement of freight transport and solve the problem of multi-kilometer traffic jams that often occurred in the area of the checkpoint.
At certain times, queues reached lengths of up to 25 kilometers, which placed a significant burden on the road infrastructure and negatively affected the ecology in the area of Lake Chatyr-Kul.

As part of the new system, freight trucks must undergo preliminary registration and form a queue for passing through the checkpoint. Vehicles will be placed in the waiting area "Kara-Bulak" and directed to the border in stages according to the established electronic queue.
This project is being implemented in accordance with the Cabinet of Ministers' resolution No. 401 dated July 8, 2025, and as part of the activities for implementing the development concept of the Customs Service of Kyrgyzstan for 2026–2030.
During his working trip, Deputy Chairman of the State Customs Service Kyialbek Mukashev also familiarized himself with the process of modernizing the infrastructure at the checkpoint. In particular, work continues on the construction of an inspection and examination complex, the reconstruction of administrative buildings, and the expansion of the checkpoint area.
Additionally, a new waiting room for participants in foreign economic activity has been opened at 'Torugart', which is expected to significantly improve working conditions for carriers, company representatives, and other business participants.
