
At the Academy of the State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic, a round table was held on the topic: "Features of the operational situation in the fight against international terrorism and religious extremism in Kyrgyzstan at the present time. How crises in the Middle East affect the religious situation in the country: trends and forecasts for the medium and long term."
According to the press service of the agency, specialists from the Anti-Terrorism Center, the Main Department for Combating International Terrorism and Religious Extremism, as well as representatives from the Main Intelligence and Counterintelligence Departments and the Legal Support Service participated in the event. Experts from the territorial divisions of the State National Security Committee also took part.
During the discussion, round table participants analyzed the current operational situation in the country related to manifestations of international terrorism and religious extremism. Approaches to the rehabilitation and adaptation of repatriates from conflict zones (such as Syria and Iraq) and their integration into Kyrgyzstan's life were also considered.
An important part of the discussions was the impact of crises in the Middle East on the religious and socio-political realities of Kyrgyzstan. Experts specializing in the Middle East presented analytical materials on the transformation of the ideologies of terrorist groups in the context of new geopolitical changes, as well as the risks of spreading destructive ideological narratives through migration and the information space.
Throughout the constructive dialogue, forecasts were voiced regarding the development of the situation in the medium and long term. Organizers and participants of the round table emphasized the importance of such discussion platforms based at the Academy of the State National Security Committee for uniting the efforts of state structures, the scientific community, and religious leaders to develop coordinated approaches to ensuring national security.
