AI System Will Fine Drivers Violating Traffic Rules in Ulaanbaatar
Starting January 1, 2026, the capital of Mongolia will begin using intelligent cameras to impose fines for ten categories of traffic violations. Last year, as part of the city budget, 1,606 AI cameras were installed at 176 intersections equipped with traffic lights, and their testing commenced. The cameras will record ten different traffic rule violations. During the testing phase, information about violations recorded by the cameras was sent to drivers via SMS, but fines were not imposed.
