On November 12, 2025, political consultations were held in Bishkek between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Federal Department of Foreign Affairs of Switzerland. According to reports, the Kyrgyz delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Meder Abakirov, while the Swiss delegation was led by the Deputy Secretary of State, Director of the Eurasia Department, Pierre-Yves Fuchs.

During the meeting, issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed, with a particular focus on trade-economic, investment, and water-energy aspects.

The heads of the delegations noted the need to activate political dialogue at the highest level and to expand the legal framework. Planned visits and events for the upcoming year were also addressed.

The parties expressed interest in continuing the Cooperation Program, which has been successfully implemented from 2022 to 2025 and is aimed at fulfilling economic and social projects.

Additionally, the participants of the meeting positively assessed the interaction between Kyrgyzstan and Switzerland in international organizations such as the UN and OSCE. Meder Abakirov also appealed to the Swiss side to support Kyrgyzstan's initiatives in UN structures.

The parties exchanged views on current international issues.
