
A meeting was held in Bishkek, during which the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Asein Isaev, discussed with Igor Petrishenko, the First Deputy Secretary General of the CIS and head of the observer mission, issues related to the organization of international observation for the upcoming early elections of deputies to the Jogorku Kenesh. The press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported this event.
During the negotiations, the parties considered not only the organizational aspects of the observation but also the possibilities for further developing cooperation within the CIS.
Asein Isaev emphasized the importance of international oversight of elections, noting that Kyrgyzstan has officially invited observers from various international organizations, including the CIS, whose opinion is highly regarded.
Additionally, he informed about the measures being taken to protect the electoral rights of citizens residing outside the country. For this purpose, 100 polling stations will be opened in 89 cities across 34 countries, including Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and the USA.
Igor Petrishenko, in turn, noted the successes of Kyrgyzstan in organizing the electoral process, which includes the latest technologies and digital solutions that contribute to ensuring transparency and reliability in vote counting and voter registration.
Furthermore, according to the Convention on Standards for Democratic Elections for CIS Countries, he announced that a mission of 150 observers will be formed, who will work both in Kyrgyzstan and at overseas polling stations, in accordance with agreements with the central electoral commissions of these countries.
In conclusion, the participants noted that cooperation within the CIS contributes to deepening mutual understanding and strengthening good-neighborly relations among the peoples of the region.
