A message about the nomination of the Kyrgyz Republic to the UN Security Council was received from the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Recently, a briefing of the permanent representatives of Central Asia at the UN took place in New York, where Ulugbek Lapasov, the permanent representative of Uzbekistan, spoke about the results of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of the region held in Tashkent on November 16, 2025.
During this event, representatives of Central Asian countries appealed to the global community to support Kyrgyzstan's candidacy for the elections to the non-permanent members of the UN Security Council for the specified period.
According to Ulugbek Lapasov, Kyrgyzstan's nomination for this position symbolizes Central Asia's desire to actively participate in ensuring global peace and security. The leaders of the region emphasized the importance of supporting Kyrgyzstan's application, noting its significant role in decision-making on the international stage.
Aida Kasymalieva, the permanent representative of Kyrgyzstan to the UN, thanked the Central Asian states for their support, emphasizing that this unity demonstrates the region's collective commitment to peace, open dialogue, and constructive multilateral cooperation.
