DJUMAKALIEV Anarbek

Architect. Honored Architect of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Born in 1945 in the village of Belogorka, Sokuluk District, Kyrgyz SSR.
In 1969, he graduated from the architectural faculty of Tashkent Polytechnic Institute.
Since 1969, he has been working at the design institute "Kyrgyzgiprostroy" in the field of residential and civil construction. Currently, he is the chief architect of projects,
For his achievements in the design of several objects in the republic, he was awarded the medal "For Labor Valor" and a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kyrgyz SSR.
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1976.
A. Djuma Kaliev has particularly excelled in the design of public buildings.
In 1970, he participated, together with architect A. M. Albansky, in the construction of the Russian Drama Theater named after N. K. Krupskaya, one of the remarkable buildings in the capital of the republic. Here, for the first time after the period of fighting against excesses in architecture and construction, high-quality finishing materials — marble, granite, aluminum — were used in large volumes. While developing the interiors, nodes, and fragments of this building, he mastered working design perfectly.
In the following years, A. Djuma Kaliev participated in the development of such well-known structures in the capital as the airport terminal building of "Manas," the extension of the House of Political Enlightenment to the building of the Frunze City Committee of the Party, and others. These constructions reflect the best modern trends in both functional organization and the artistic characteristics of the buildings.
A great connoisseur of folk applied art, a skilled graphic artist, and a master of architectural detail, Anarbek Djuma Kaliev, in his free time, designs samples of folk furniture, carves household items from wood and leather, and makes saddles. He is an active participant in several republican competitions, where he has been awarded multiple times. His project for a garden house for dacha cooperatives, which received the first prize at the competition, is very popular among developers due to its compact, rationally used volume and low cost.
