IVANOV Vladlen Alekseevich

Architect. Honored Architect of the Kirghiz SSR (1981).
Born in 1931 in the village of Itkul, Novosibirsk region of the RSFSR.
In 1955, he graduated from the architectural faculty of the Novosibirsk Engineering and Construction Institute named after V. V. Kuibyshev. After completing his studies, he was assigned to the "Sibakademproyekt" institute.
In 1966, he moved to the Siberian zonal scientific research institute of typical and experimental design, where he developed several standard projects for the Siberian and Far Eastern regions, as well as projects for public buildings, among which the most interesting is the project for a cinema-concert hall in Vatutina Square in Novosibirsk.
In 1973 (upon invitation), he moved to Kyrgyzstan, to the city of Frunze, where he works as the chief architect of the "Kyrgyzgiprostroy" institute.
Member of the Union of Architects of the USSR since 1965.
The most significant work of V. Ivanov was the project for the Academic Town of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences on the shores of the Ob Sea. The principle of microdistrict planning was the foundation of the urban planning complex, which found wide application in subsequent years in the urban planning practice of our country.
It was here, during this work, that he developed a broad urban planning mindset and a clear understanding of the professional and civic duty of an architect in the context of mass construction. A significant portion of his creative biography was devoted to the work on the complex of the new airport in the city of Frunze and the project for the terminal of the "Manas" airport. The "Manas" airport is a vast technological and architectural complex that includes dozens of buildings, each with its own specifics in internal structure and external appearance. A special place in this work is occupied by the terminal building. It represents a compact central volume with a dynamic structure due to the shifting volumes that extend to the apron and the station square. The expressive silhouette, energetic plasticity of the volumes, complex light-shadow characteristics of the facade planes, and the use of natural stone create a memorable image of this structure.
The most interesting recent works include the construction of service buildings for party organs in the cities of Przhevalsk and Talas, as well as the building of the branch of the Central Museum of V. I. Lenin in the city of Frunze, built in 1984 for the 60th anniversary of the formation of the Kirghiz SSR and the Communist Party of Kyrgyzstan.
His vast experience in creative and production activities, principledness, demand for quality in work, and kind, comradely attitude towards people — all these qualities were particularly evident when he took office as the chief architect of the "Kyrgyzgiprostroy" institute.
Awarded a Certificate of Honor from the Supreme Soviet of the Kirghiz SSR.
