The head of the State National Security Committee, Kamchybek Tashiev, told the "Region" television channel in an interview that his fight against corruption has led to the loss of 70 percent of his friends and relatives.

He emphasized that this initiative benefits both the state and future generations.

“As a citizen, it is very difficult for me to carry out this work. Among those held accountable are my acquaintances and close ones. I could not turn a blind eye to their crimes, and therefore I lost about 70 percent of my friends and relatives,” Tashiev noted.

According to him, combating corruption faces active resistance, as many do not wish to change the established order in society.

“This struggle involves opposing an entire generation of people. Previously, almost all officials were involved in corrupt schemes and profited at the expense of the people. Now we are legally seizing their property. Of course, many of them are unhappy. For example, we seized over 50 properties from one of the officials from Akayev's time, including factories, plants, and plots of land. This, of course, does not please him and his family. Previously, the level of corruption in government agencies reached 80 percent, and it was impossible to resolve any issue without a bribe, but now it has decreased to 30 percent. Our goal is to reduce this figure to 10 percent. I am confident that soon everyone will feel positive changes in the country,” the head of the special services added.
