In recent years, there has been a positive trend in the recovery of the pheasant population in the Issyk-Kul region, which had previously significantly declined. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

“In winter, pheasants face the greatest difficulties. In conditions of reduced natural food sources, the birds require additional support,” the official statement indicates.

Employees of the district department of the Ministry of Natural Resources in the Ak-Suu district have begun winter feeding of pheasants in their habitats. This initiative has received support from the local hunting society.

In addition, measures to combat illegal hunting have been intensified. Specialists note that currently, the main threats to pheasants are predators, and corresponding actions are also being taken in this direction.

According to the results of the autumn bird count, about 1200 pheasants were registered in the Ak-Suu district.
