A report of an attempted theft at the church building was received by the Ak-Suu District Internal Affairs Department on January 6, 2026. The press service of the Internal Affairs Department of the Issyk-Kul region reported that unknown individuals attempted to steal property from the church.
The information was recorded in the crime log, and a preliminary investigation was soon initiated.
An investigative operational group was dispatched to the scene. Upon inspection, it was found that the church's entrance door had been broken, and the New Year tree, decorated for the holiday, had been set on fire using a special liquid for lighting lamps. Additionally, two donation boxes were opened, and money was stolen from them.
Also, 10 New Year gifts, 2 silver chains, 5-6 rings, and 12-15 crosses disappeared from the church shop. Furthermore, a Wi-Fi router was stolen from the premises.
In addition, at the mosque in the village of Ak-Suu, the criminals also opened donation boxes and took money, breaking the windows of two cars and stealing small items from them.
Based on the collected data on this case, a criminal case was initiated under paragraph 4 of part 3 of article 205 of the Criminal Code, concerning theft with breaking and entering.
Officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ak-Suu District Internal Affairs Department, thanks to prompt actions and the use of video surveillance, were able to quickly detain the suspects with the stolen items.
The detainees turned out to be two residents of the district: a minor N.A., born in 2010, and V.A., born in 2003, who has a previous conviction.
According to articles 96-97 of the Criminal Procedure Code, the suspects have been placed in a temporary detention facility. Investigative actions are ongoing.
