In the Issyk-Kul region, in the Ak-Suu district, a man has been detained, accused of violent actions against his wife, local law enforcement reported.

According to information from the authorities, on November 25, a complaint was filed with the Ak-Suu district police by I.A., born in 1992, a resident of the district. She stated that for a long time she had been subjected to violence by her husband I.E., born in 1987, a native of the village of Kairma-Aryk.

Based on this information, a preliminary investigation was initiated, and forensic medical examinations were appointed.

In her testimony, I.A. stated that she married I.E. in 2010, and they have four children. Throughout their life together, her husband repeatedly beat her without apparent reason and used abusive language. On March 3, 2025, after yet another beating, she sought medical help at the Ak-Suu district hospital but concealed the true cause of her injury, saying she "fell," in order not to put her small children at risk. However, three months after being discharged from the hospital, he beat and choked her again.

In August 2025, I.A. decided to divorce, took the children, and moved in with her parents. On November 20, 2025, she filed for divorce in the Ak-Suu district court. However, I.E. continued to behave aggressively, threatening her over the phone, insulting her, and sending videos that tarnished her honor and dignity.

As a result of the investigation, according to the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the bodily injuries sustained by I.A. were classified as not causing serious harm to health, as stated in the official report.

In connection with the above facts, on December 5, 2025, a criminal case was initiated under part 1 of Article 131 ("Causing less serious harm to health") of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic, and pre-trial proceedings were started.

Today, December 6, I.E. was interrogated as a suspect with the participation of a lawyer and then placed in custody in accordance with the law.
