Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova asked Bishkek's Deputy Mayor Ramiz Aliyev when the park was transferred to the city's administration.
According to Aliyev, this happened approximately two years ago, after which the park was under the management of the Presidential Administration.
The deputy clarified whether the vice-mayor was aware of the current state of the park. In response, Aliyev noted that the city administration was already familiar with the situation.
Mavlyanova pointed out that the condition of the park, built by the Azerbaijani side, raises serious concerns.
“The Azerbaijanis created a wonderful park for Bishkek, but 90% of the greenery has deteriorated. The junipers and lawns have dried up. You talk about new parks, but you haven’t taken care of the existing one. Creating new parks requires funding, which makes the expenditure unreasonable. If there are problems with irrigation, alternative solutions should have been found. Someone needs to take responsibility for this,” the deputy emphasized.
Aliyev, for his part, responded that after the park was transferred to the city administration, an irrigation system was promptly organized.
He also denied the information that 90% of the greenery had dried up, claiming that irrigation in the park is still being carried out.
- On October 11, 2022, during the state visit of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to Kyrgyzstan, the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Friendship Park was inaugurated by President Sadyr Japarov.
- The park is located on Baytik Baatyr Street, near the Southern Highway, and covers an area of about 5 hectares.
