This mechanism was implemented to reduce instances of fraud and to protect citizens from unauthorized loan issuance. It is worth noting that the self-ban was officially put into effect on November 1, 2025.
Citizens can establish or lift the self-ban completely free of charge through the state electronic services portal. Information about the ban is transmitted to the selected credit bureaus.
Financial institutions are required to check for the presence of a self-ban and to deny credit if such a ban is in place.
Legislative changes regarding this mechanism were signed by the president during the summer months of 2025.
