The draft law amending the Law on "Renewable Energy Sources" was discussed in the second reading in the Jogorku Kenesh. The document was presented by Deputy Minister of Energy Altynbek Rysbekov.

Deputy Mahabat Mavlyanova asked about the size of the electricity deficit in the country.

As Altynbek Rysbekov reported, by the end of 2025, the electricity deficit in Kyrgyzstan will amount to 3.8 billion kilowatt-hours.

He added that imported supplies will be used to cover the deficit.

This year, contracts for the import of electricity with neighboring countries are planned to be concluded to eliminate the deficit, along with the implementation of a program for the introduction of renewable energy sources.

In response to Mahabat Mavlyanova's request to disclose the cost of one kilowatt-hour of imported electricity, a representative of the Ministry of Energy declined, citing state secrecy. Altynbek Rysbekov promised to provide this information to the deputy in a personal conversation.
