In the Aksy District, work is actively nearing completion on a large-scale project to create a new irrigation system in the Kashka-Suu rural area. This project will address the long-standing issue of water scarcity for irrigation in the villages of Sögöt and Kara-Töbö.
The initiative arose from the appeals of delegates at the III People's Kurultai, which served as the basis for allocating funds from the republican budget in response to requests from local residents. Construction work, which began in 2025, is proceeding according to the established schedule.
The project includes the creation of a modern water supply main using pipes with diameters ranging from 350 to 250 mm. The length of the new irrigation network will be 16 kilometers. Specialists plan to complete the construction of the "Kashka-Suu" section by May 2026, which will allow the system to be launched in the current irrigation season.
It is expected that the new system will provide irrigation for more than 500 hectares of agricultural land. The district water management office notes that this will not only increase the yield and income of local farmers but also represent a significant step forward in the socio-economic development of the Aksy District.
