The Minister paid special attention to the Eastern Big Chui Canal, which has been in operation since 1957 and stretches for 97 kilometers, supplying water to a significant area of 41,500 hectares. At the same time, work continues on the concrete lining of the R-24 canal in the rural municipality of Jaiylma, which will help reduce water losses. In 2025, 1,480 meters of the canal were upgraded, and for 2026, the concrete lining of another 1,280 meters is planned, which will provide irrigation for 1,100 hectares of land.
Bakyt Torobaev also visited the Tuzov basin, which was built in 1987 for water resource management. After major repairs, its water capacity increased to 1.8 million m³. This basin supplies additional water to the fields of the Jaiylmin rural district, the village of Tuz, the city of Kant, and the village of Luxembourg, covering a total of more than 2,400 hectares of irrigated land. The development of these hydraulic structures is aimed at supporting local farmers and improving the export potential of the country's agricultural products.
