
At the beginning of 2026, Kyrgyzstan is experiencing a rise in consumer prices of 0.8% in January compared to December 2025, while the annual figure stands at 9.5%, as reported by the National Statistical Committee.
According to the agency's data, since the beginning of 2026, the following price increases have already occurred:
- food and non-alcoholic beverages — by 1%;
- alcohol and tobacco products — by 0.8%;
- tariffs for services to the population — by 0.7%;
- non-food goods — by 0.5%.
Prices for goods in January 2026
The largest price increase in January 2026 was observed for fresh vegetables — 4.9%.
Significant price increases were also noted for potatoes (3.4%), sausage and canned meat products (2.5%), dairy products (2.1%), cheese (2.1%), and eggs (2.1%).
Prices for bulk milk increased by 2.6%, lamb by 1.5%, beef by 0.9%, and fish by 0.5%.
At the same time, flour decreased in price by 0.5%, and rice by 0.1% since the beginning of the year.

Price Growth by Region
According to the National Statistical Committee, in January 2026, prices and tariffs increased in all regions of Kyrgyzstan.
The largest increase — 1.3% — was recorded in the Batken region, which is associated with a rise in prices for services to the population by 2.6%.
In Bishkek, the maximum price increase for food and non-alcoholic beverages was 1.4%, while in the Jalal-Abad region, non-food goods became 1.2% more expensive.
Monitoring of the Food Basket by 24.kg
24.kg continues to monitor prices for a minimum set of products. The cost of this set increased by 106 soms over the past week and now amounts to 7,338 soms.
In Bishkek, tomatoes, peppers, apples, and vegetable oil have become more expensive, while cucumbers, carrots, cabbage, pears, and sugar have decreased in price.

24.kg conducts weekly monitoring of prices for the same set of products in the same supermarket. Prices may vary depending on the store, as supermarkets often have promotions.
Analysis shows that since the beginning of our monitoring in late October 2018, the price of the food basket has increased by 4,068 soms. Since the beginning of 2026, it has risen by 615 soms, and compared to the same period in 2025, it has increased by 1,272 soms.
Salary Dynamics in Kyrgyzstan
According to the National Statistical Committee, in 2025, the average nominal salary in Kyrgyzstan increased by 18.9% compared to 2024.
It currently stands at 44,419 soms.

The number of registered unemployed in Kyrgyzstan in January 2025 was 37,600 people, which is 24.6% less compared to 2024.
