Residents of the village of Muras in the Leilek district are waiting for the launch of the water supply system
The work on implementing a new drinking water supply system in the village of Muras in the Batken region is nearing completion. The press service of the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that this project is being implemented as part of an initiative to improve water supply considering climate changes. Currently, construction work is at the final stage, and soon more than 3,000 residents of the village will have access to safe drinking water.

The system upgrade covered key elements: new reservoirs for storing purified water were built, modern chlorination stations were installed, and a complete reconstruction of water intake facilities was carried out. The length of the new main pipelines and distribution networks exceeded 17 kilometers.

The opening of the new water supply system will allow 537 households, totaling 3,408 people, to connect to a centralized source. This system fully complies with sanitary standards and is designed for long-term operation, which will significantly ease the management of water resources in the region. The construction work is being monitored by the Project Implementation Department of the relevant Department under the Ministry of Agriculture.
