This initiative aims to fundamentally renew the water infrastructure, which plays a key role for eight settlements. The project includes a complete reconstruction of 15 kilometers of the left bank main canal, with a total length of almost 16 kilometers, as well as the construction of a new upper economic canal measuring 13.5 kilometers. The main goal of the modernization is to increase the system's capacity, reduce water losses, and ensure stable water supply for farmers.
The project became possible thanks to the results of an international tender, which was won by China Road. The total contract amount for the construction works is 853 million 476 thousand soms. The completion of all reconstruction works is scheduled for the end of December 2028.
After the modernization is completed, a significant improvement in water supply quality is expected over 8,225 hectares of irrigated land. More than 114 thousand residents of Bazar-Korgon, as well as residents of the rural areas of Saydykum and Akman, will feel the social benefits of the project. This modernization will be an important step towards improving food security in the region and supporting the local agricultural sector.
